Discovering a thrill-seeking adventure where you rappel down canyons, with waterfalls crashing onto you, and lush greenery at every turn is exactly the type of extremeness you’re craving. Waterfall rappelling, sometimes called “canyoning”, “canyoneering” or our personal fav “kloofing”, takes you on an obstacle course of sorts. You’ll venture into the depths of a canyon while water cascades around you, then jump into crystal clear pools, swim, wade and hike your way through tropical forests. Bucket worthy, for sure. Daring, no doubt. Bragging rights, you bet.

But no need to think water rappelling is only for extreme dare devils. It’s for all levels. You’ll have a guide to take you on this trek, so no need to stray away from what could be the best time of your life. Here is a quick snapshot of what you can expect:

  • You’re gonna get wet. You might even get a little dirty, but it’s #worthit.

  • Dress appropriately – shorts, pants, and shirts that will dry quickly (repurpose your workout gear) and wear shoes suitable for hiking.

  • You’ll have a guide that will show you the ropes before you hit the canyons. You’ll even practice rappelling, too – so no need to be a professional.

  • You’re going to see gorgeous tropical vegetation at every turn. So breathe in the beauty and enjoy the ride.

Waterfall rappelling is found on many of our Caribbean Islands – Costa Rica, Dominica & Puerto Rico. Ready to take it to the extreme?
