On the end of the magical island on one of the most beautiful stretches of sand in the Caribbean, sits the famous Uncle Ernie’s, Shoal Bay, Anguilla. Named after the late Ernest Benjamin Harrigan affectionately known to everyone as “Uncle Ernie,” this chilled, laid-back taste bud-slaying locale offers delicious food at deliciously reasonable prices. A little blue shack with an unassuming, (but epic) porch, this renowned nosh spot is now run by Ernie’s daughters, Eileen, Icilma and his nephew, Franklin, who make darn sure their grub lives up to Ernie’s fine name. Serving up everything from lip smackin’ BBQ to burgers to crab and lobster, when available, the varied menu always hits the spot. All of these victuals come with coleslaw and French fries. Available drinks include your basic soft drinks, ice cold beer, mixed drinks, wine and fruity island concoctions. But if you're serious about gettin' happy at Uncle Ernie’s, Shoal Bay, Anguilla, you'll try the famous rum punch.

“Don’t forget to make a pit stop at Uncle Ernie’s – it’s the most gorgeous beach you’ll ever see and don’t forget to enjoy a cocktail with lunch. I highly suggest the lobster pocket and they will even let you run a tab for the day. This day trip to Uncle Ernie’s, Shoal Bay, Anguilla from St. Martin is a must if you want to experience paradise. Uncle Ernie’s is open Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and happy hour is Tuesdays 6-8 p.m. On Sundays, you can hear live tunes from popular keyboard player and saxophonist, Keith Gumbs. You’ll meet people from all over the world and after you’re done hanging out, it’s back to the beach you go for swimming, snorkeling or booze snoozing. Forget all those ritzy places to eat. Uncle Ernie’s, Shoal Bay, Anguilla, is where you want to chow down.
