It all started in 1990. Phillippe Gillet visited the dreamy Dominican Republic and fell in love with the gorgeous weather and breathtaking beaches. But he also discovered something he was quite smitten with – cigars. Two years later, Gillet returned to the Dominican Republic impassioned and determined to “create a cigar brand” – and he did!
In 1992, the fun began: Don Lucas Cigars started rolling cigars with only two cigar rollers – making only 150 of these babies a day. Today, they have over 45 employees in their production line keeping their nimble fingers and hands busy creating 14 different cigar sizes with five different strengths. When the cigars are finished, they’re put in humidors to ensure optimal conditions so that they are full-bodied and smooth when you want to enjoy them. The company creed is “quality over quantity,” which is why they only produce a limited amount of cigars that meet the highest standards.
