Our 10th visit to Valentin felt like coming home.

Our 10th visit to Valentin felt like coming home. The staff is what makes this resort so special — Zyanya’s energizing TRX and yoga, Sonia’s smile and amazing poolside service, Diana and Lizbeth at Don Miguel’s with their warm hospitality, Abigail’s heartfelt welcome, Lorenzo’s high energy with the GO Team, and Michel’s genuine care. Maria, Naiomy, Isa, and Jorge also went above and beyond, remembering us and treating us like family. The grounds are beautifully maintained, full of wildlife, and the beach was well cared for. Valentin truly delivers unmatched service, which is why we keep coming back.

Despite the beauty and loyal following to this resort- noise overshadowed our trip.

The resort’s tropical grounds are stunning and meticulously maintained, with a relaxed adults-only atmosphere and exceptional staff who deliver some of the best service we’ve encountered anywhere. Our swim-out suite in Building 7 was spacious and modern, but persistent construction noise — often late into the evening — seriously undermined an otherwise enjoyable stay. Dining is mixed: a few excellent dishes such as the Chilean sea bass, sushi at Ginger, and frog legs at the French restaurant, alongside others that felt mid-tier. The beach is beautiful though narrow and somewhat rocky, and the pools are superb. Valentín Imperial Riviera Maya has great potential and truly special staff, but management communication and dining consistency need improvement. The noise issue alone would make us hesitate to return u some until those concerns are addressed.

    5th time - VIM still a WIN!

We just got home from our 5th visit to VIM. As before, they met our expectations and then some. We upgraded to an Emerald room and found nice insulated tumblers waiting for us. Used them every day and got them signed by Sonia and the Go team. Israel and Sairy greeted us by name whenever our paths crossed. I did the bike tour with them and had a blast speaking Spanish and learning about the native wildlife. Breakfast/lunch buffet is newly remodeled and beautiful. Food selection was excellent but the placard sign text was kind of hard to read. We had supper at every restaurant except French - no complaints, everything was delicious. Did the teppanyaki at Ginger for the first time and did not leave hungry! All of the waitstaff were great, especially Jose Diaz at the Mexican restaurant. Our building concierge Jhordan went above and beyond to help us with everything from reservations to making sure our minibar was stocked with the specific beverages we wanted. Claudia at the Golden pool is so sweet and took good care of us. Also a big shout-out to Carlos the relief bartender who we met at the Sunset bar. Our Building 11 room was perfect - kept clean and well stocked. A/C worked great. It's the farthest to walk to from the lobby, but quiet at night. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the cruise ships go by on their way to and from Cozumel. This trip, we only went in the ocean once because several days of storms pushed a lot of seaweed onshore. The resort does its best to clean it up, but it can't take it from the water itself. Fortunately, the pools are large, clean, and well staffed so we really didn't mind the lack of beach time. We're not late night people so we only watched the Imperial Band once, but they are first class all the way. We really enjoyed the Velvet acoustic duo/trio who play in the Spanish plaza earlier in the evenings. They do deeper tracks, which is a nice change from the same ten songs you hear at other resorts. We used LocalTours for our airport transportation - they were on time both ways. Highly recommend. So again, GRACIAS to VIM for another wonderful vacation! Already miss everyone there. Hopefully see you in 2026!

    Lovely engagement trip

Our stay was amazing. The quality of drinks/food for the price we paid in an inclusive was exceptional. We stayed in a silver junior suite which was lovely. The pools/beach and staff were fabulous. We especially loved the wildlife around the resort! My partner proposed to me on this trip which made it even more special. The only tiny con we had was when we got engaged we asked if it could be put in the journal a silly thing, but unfortunately it wasn’t. We also didn’t get any towel decorations as I have seen from others (this is a tiny thing and really does not impact my opinion of the hotel) We were however given a chance to make a reservation at a restaurant of our choice even though we weren’t prive which was thoughtful. I loved the pool biking, tennis courts and we loved running in the morning around the resort before getting our coffees at cafe sisal! A different experience of an all inclusive coming from the UK as the hotel is definetly catered towards Americans but I would 100% recommend and would love to come back! Tip: the brits and Europeans can be found in the golden pool lol

still a great hotel even with a disappointment.

We have visited this hotel 9 times over the last 15 years from the UK. Over the last 2 visits, there has been a small decline in the quality of the restaurants. The staff are always first class and cannot do enough for you; the hotel experience is also first class. The one area that disappointed me in was the quality of the meat. When I ordered a fillet mignon in the French restaurant, it most certainly was not a fillet but a much cheaper cut of meat. It was the same experience in the surf and turf; the rib eye ordered was most certainly not a rib eye on my plate. I fully understand that costs need to be cut, but i believe if the menu states the steak is a fillet or rib eye, it should be exactly that on my plate. i suspect that the hotel may have changed the supplier. At the end of the day, would i allow this disappointment to keep me away from this hotel, no it most certainly would not, i would still stay here again. Footnote. The house band are brilliant and great evening entertainment
