  Great stay!

  Here now, arrived as a friend group on Sunday. Cancun airport was absolute chaos, no queue structure people pushing in, even worse than Turkey! We opted for private transfer which was quick and sCheck in was fairly quick at the hotel though as we did it online first, the luggage took a while to come up to us. The drink on arrival was a nice touch but a cold face cloth would be been a good addition. Beautiful hotel, very clean, gorgeous beach. We havent struggled to get a bed anywhere. The water is lovely and warm, so clear! I'm on floor 8 which is no issue to me but we're right above the Rui party (ends at 11pm) I think they're 4 times a week, they look brilliant, we are going to one tonight! Room wise, very comfy bed and pillows, really clean and well equipped with iron and coffee machine. The drinks in the room are good, mini bar stocked every 2 days, good if you fancy a tipple at night. I've got a corner balcony where you can still see the sea but for me, it's not as relaxing as a full front facing balcony.... you feel kind of squashed into the corner so we haven't really sat outside. Beautiful sun rise and sun sets though! The food so far has been great, lots of choice and different restaurants to try, plenty of choice at the buffet and steak house was lovely. Didn't enjoy the Chinese as much, we went at 8.30 had to wait and there's was hardly any choice of hot food, they weren't replenishing things. Spring rolls were good, sushi was okay, wouldn't go again. Drinks wise the cocktails I've had have been very tasty, the pool entertainment is good too, there's classes you can do if you're into fitness. I would've thought for 5 star you'd have a waiter service for drinks by the pool but there isn't, there is a man every hour that brings a cart of shots and premium drinks round though. Overall I like the hotel, my husband was a bit annoyed that he'd mentioned it was my birthday and it was missed by the hotel but apart from that I've no complaints really, I would definitely come back and would definitely stay at another Riu resort.

  Extremely Disappointed — Unprofessional Service and Discrimination

  I’m writing this review after a deeply upsetting experience at Riu Caribe, Cancun. What was meant to be a celebratory trip with a group of 13 professional Black women turned into a series of stressful and disheartening encounters — marked by poor service, broken promises, and discriminatory treatment. Before our arrival, we were assured of several accommodations: airport transfers, birthday room decorations, and guest rooms placed near each other. Upon arrival, those promises were revoked. I had to pay $250 separately for transportation and was denied a refund. The resort then attempted to charge $180 USD for room decorations — a price never disclosed beforehand. Despite multiple conversations with several managers, not one was willing to accommodate any of our requests. Our group was placed in rooms scattered across the resort, and even basic amenities like pool towels were difficult to access without a specific towel card — despite wearing resort wristbands. The most painful moment came when the resort refused to seat our party for a birthday dinner, despite prior arrangements. Staff escalated the situation by calling security, forcing us to leave the resort and find a restaurant off-site at the last minute. Throughout our stay, we experienced racial bias and discriminatory treatment on multiple occasions. It was clear that our group was not treated with the same respect or courtesy as other guests, and that is unacceptable. I would absolutely not recommend Riu Caribe to anyone — especially those planning a special occasion or traveling as a group. Hospitality should be inclusive, respectful, and professional. Unfortunately, this resort failed on all counts.

  Another great trip to a Riu Resort Hotel

  Beautiful Hotel. Stayed October 9th to 16th and can honestly say everything from the food to the customer service was spot on. Great entertainment and activities all week and would recommend to anyone staying that you have to go to at least one of the Riu parties. Now for the food. I have read a lot of negative reviews, and can only say one thing, if you can't find at least one thing that is good to excellent to eat at the buffet then you should get your taste buds examined. Only managed to get to one of the other restaurants; Steak House, but would definitely recommend it as the food and service was top tier. Overall an excellent experience.

  Excellent hotel

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Fabulous Stay at the Riu caribe Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the Riu caribe hotel staff couldn’t do enough for us. 😀 The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and the view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking — waking up to that scenery every morning was just amazing! The food was lovely across all the restaurants and the buffet, and the drinks were fantastic. Every member of staff — from the bar staff to the cleaners and lobby team — was so kind, friendly, and always happy to help. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was incredible, and we loved every minute of our week’s stay. We were genuinely gutted to be leaving! I’d like to give a special mention to two of the pool bar staff, David and Israel, who truly made our days by the pool unforgettable. They were so funny, hardworking, and always had a smile on their faces. They really made a difference to our holiday experience. Everything about this hotel was outstanding, and we’ll definitely be returning. It’s now our go-to hotel every time we visit Mexico — simply fabulous! 🌴❤️

  Not all inclusive to all ages

  Teenager unable to sit on the side of the pool to speak to our group. If your under 18 child is coming here in a large group of mostly adults and 18+ year olds I do not recommend as if they sit even on the side with their feet dipping in the water with a Pepsi in hand at the pool bar speaking to the rest of the group they will be asked to move to sun beds which can be very far away compared to the rest of the group practically alienating them which affects their entire mood on the holiday We came expecting a fun birthday holiday for 10 days only to find the only person under 18 alienated from the entire group The photo taken shows the distance from the pool and our group to our under 18 individual
