  They stay was good and the weather is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially the following: Justin Yeraly start class bar Edu bartender Kanzy start class bar Emmeth sushi bar Javier chef Asia Marcos sushi bar Carlos sushi bar The receptionist for the star class guest available for may 30 at 1 pm was rude and did not inform us clearly of our perks. First impression is everything. The staff above made the difference. Be prepared not to get any reservations at the restaurants, they are always booked. Our personal assistant Justin did everything to get us reservations but 2 of them not the times requested. Planet Hollywood definitely needs more staff. The spa was great!!

  Very disappointed

  Very disappointed! My trip started off bad and did not get much better. The check in process was long, upon arrival to my room it was HOT, unbearably so and after a long day of traveling that was the worst thing. As I waited for my room to cool off I went to the burger place by the pool I waited in the weltering place because I wanted to get my food before it was taken away by the flies, the food was left on the counter uncovered. At about 1:30 am that night the power went out, making an already long day turn into an even longer sleepless night. Once sunrise came I went to the front desk for an update on what the issue was, all they could say was it was a regional power outage. With no power there was no running water. I understood that somethings are out of their control but their response was totally unacceptable. I was told to go sit by the pool…absolutely not! No filtration…not happening. My group decided to get a ride into town to get something to eat and try to stay cool. After hot days a warm shower would have hit the spot but no! Only cool water from Monday to Thursday and with already being hot the cool water felt cold. I have knee issues and being on the third floor and the toilet being very low made for a miserable experience. I noted that they seemed to only have Diet Pepsi or diet 7 Up and I don’t care for either. I was very disappointed with my stay and will not go back. I will at some point go back to Costa Rica but absolutely will not stay there.

  Go to a different resort

  no hot water no electricity for a period of time air-con was barely working food was horrible resort store for getting items you may have forgotten are priced as a scam. only service & staff were good. take your money to a different resort because management clearly don't care about this resort.

  Planet Hollywood Costa Rica

  Our stay at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica has been memorable. Justin our PA has made everything so great from dinners to excursions. Randall at the cantina made our wedding anniversary very special. So much fun and always new things to do and see.

  Not So Great Experience

  I recently stayed at this resort with a large group of family and friends (nearly 30 people total), and unfortunately, our experience was overwhelmingly negative from the very beginning. After a long day of international travel, our check-in process took over 30 minutes, which was incredibly frustrating and exhausting. The resort has no elevators, which posed a major challenge for some of our group members with mobility issues—something that should have been disclosed or better accommodated. Once in our room, we were hit with stifling heat. I went to the main office to report it and was simply told to "wait." It took several hours for the room to become even moderately comfortable, which is unacceptable in a resort setting. To make matters worse, the power went out in the middle of the night across the entire resort. That meant no air conditioning, no running water, and no ability to flush toilets. Imagine the smell and discomfort in such heat—it was unbearable. When we brought our concerns to staff, we were handed a single bottle of water and left to figure things out on our own. This was particularly alarming as some people rely on refrigerated medications like insulin and Ozempic. No one on the resort staff could provide viable solutions for how to keep these medications properly stored, which could have led to serious health emergencies. The next morning, people were using their cellphone flashlights just to navigate the breakfast buffet. We ultimately had to leave the resort entirely just to access running water and air conditioning. Power was finally restored almost 24 hours later, for some people, but we didn’t have warm or hot water until Thursday night—and we checked out on Saturday. The food, which could have been a highlight, was instead a lowlight. Guy Fieri’s Burger Joint was overrun with flies—flies swarming the uncovered food. I lost my appetite on sight. And when I did try the chicken, it was so tough and rubbery, it was like gnawing on the ankle bone of the bird. Absolutely inedible. The specialty restaurants were not bad, the staff there were very friendly and kind. The slushed drinks were definitely the move. Even trying to relax at the beach was a challenge. I could hardly sit down before being surrounded by people trying to sell me massages, beads, trinkets—over and over again. There was no peace, no quiet, just constant haggling made it challenging to enjoy the oceanfront. To be clear: the staff did the best they could under the circumstances. I don’t blame them—I blame the lack of planning, oversight, and preparedness from management. This is a resort. Power outages can happen, but the absence of a backup plan, medical accommodations, or real-time communication is inexcusable. This experience felt more like surviving than vacationing. I left more exhausted and stressed than when I arrived. I will never return to this resort—and I will avoid any Planet Hollywood property's in the future. For a brand promising star treatment, this was nothing but chaos, discomfort, and disappointment.
