Unforgettable week in paradise
Just completed a week at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets. The e-team is fantastic! Abraham is very kind and welcoming. Also enjoyed sessions (like skin care lab, day of the dead traditions, smudge stick making, bike tour, dreamcatcher making, body board balancing) with Franky, Adrian, and April. Transportation involves flying into CUN airport and then land transfer to the Marina (about 40min), and then a 45min catamaran ride to the resort. There is a check in area at the dock that really sets the tone well for the rest of the week. The resort is very luxurious - you have 2 butlers a day (Amairani and Zelma were excellent), food is top notch (mostly a la carte, buffet is Sun only), service is phenomenal (ie: on occasion, staff would clean my sunglasses at the pool or would press the elevator button if they see you approaching). The room is beautiful. I normally do the upgrade at Secrets/Dreams/Breathless, but I was very satisfied with the basic room here. They provide you with a tote, his and hers hats, sunscreen SPF 30, bug spray, rosewater toner. The food is great. I tried dinners at all but Sake and Uniq as I didn’t not plan optimally during my 7 night stay (they are closed on certain nights). I went to Sake for the teppenyaki - Chef Tony was hilarious! Top pics include sea bass, seafood soup, green risotto at Spezia, ribeye, octopus, and chocolate souffle at Wildfire. For lunches, I tried Spezia, Uniq (best views), Mercado (ordered from a beach chair in the main level pool and ate while in the pool - highly recommend), La Vista, and the buffet on the last day. I got to eat the a la carte breakfast at Uniq twice. The coffeeshop Cacao is delightful - they have impressive smoothie and coffee menus. I would dash in and get drinkable breakfast items from here when teaching back to back classes. There is an afternoon tea 4-6pm at Isola lobby bar. There are charming pots and cups and an array of finger sandwiches and sweets. My fave bar was the Uniq rooftop bar - top pics are the Green Moon (add Condessa gin), mango mezcalita, and kiwi caipirinha. Johan taught a couple great mixology classes at Uniq. Did 2 add-on experiences. The golf cart rental is $100 for 4hr, and we went to the zipline park just 2 min south of the resort, Punta Sur, downtown, Punta Norte. Our butler sent some recs when we left, and we went to Tacos de Humo which was incredible. We got the guac, tacos loco, and lasagna. The 2nd one was with AquaWorld - 3hr snorkel from 10a-1p on Sunday at MUSA (underwater art museum) and the reef. Highly recommend! I wanted to scuba but the trips all left at 10a, so it wasn’t possible with the teaching schedule. Other guests talked about add-ons like the sunset catamaran, private dinner on their balcony, that also sounded nice. The spa is wonderful here. I did a 50min deep tissue massage with Alicia, who was wonderful. It was very relaxing and much-needed after all the classes. The hydrotherapy is lovely as well. In addition to the e-team activities mentioned above, I also enjoyed the cooking classes (ceviche, stuffed pepper), mixology classes, spirit tastings, body board balancing class, snorkel tour, paddle tour. There were festivities for Halloween (special dinner and show) and Day of the Dead (altar set up, making an offering activity, etc). All activities were executed extremely well. They are very hospitable and will often make sure you have a drink pertaining to the activity (ie: orange and cinnamon for the offering) or dessert after cooking class. The beach is relatively small, but there is plenty of seating/lounging space as they have a deck built, and day beds on the deck. Overall, this was an incredible experience! Highly recommend!

A definite must see location.
One of the best resorts I’ve ever traveled to. Entertainment led by Frankie and April was great. Our butler Zelma took care of everything.
