What We Love
- We highly recommend Ohtli, the resort's full-service spa. It offers everything from Pilates to traditional Mayan body treatments to recharge after a day of fun.
Things to Know
- With Mexican-inspired decor and activities like Spanish lessons, an amazing spa, nearby golf and terrific pools, this resort offers a cool, exotic vacation.
At this resort, kids and toddlers get their own pools, which are surrounded by lounge chairs and umbrellas for parents. The family pool has a unique rock-garden island and a sunset-view infinity edge, plus a whirlpool. For sand in your flip-flops, walk out to El Salado Beach, where you can kick back in the complimentary lounge chairs, and enjoy views of aquamarine-colored water and white sand.
When you've worked up an appetite, it's time for a casual lunch at the open-air restaurant Las Casitas. Or, check out burgers, fries and wings at Champions Sports Bar. If you want a more elegant experience, Mikado serves Japanese and Thai dishes in a refined and soothing ambiance. For evening entertainment, the Lobby Bar can hook you up with cocktails and Mexican-style tapas, fine tequila and live music.
Another standout feature of this resort is the Kids Club. While parents enjoy quality time together, kids ages 4-12 can hang out and join in supervised activities. Local craftsmen teach them how to paint barro-clay pottery, and if the climate and season are just right, kids might even get to participate in the Sea Turtle Rescue Program by attending a baby turtle release ceremony!
After a day of Caribbean bliss, retreat to the comfort of signature bedding, featuring plush mattresses, soft sheets and a luxurious abundance of pillows. If you're not quite ready for bed, a broad walkway lined with shops, bars and restaurants is only 216 yd (200 m) away!

Definitely a five star hotel except on a Demo day.
Location, beautiful pool area and service. We stayed at Marriott Marina for about a week. You are approximately 10 min max from the airport and walking distance about 10 minutes max to the Marina. So many restaurants to choose from, which does help with their closure of 2 main restaurants. Going into downtown Puerto Vallarta is about 20 minutes, not far, traffic is pretty busy but easy to Taxi or Uber. About $10. Would love to give 5 stars because this is a Great resort! Positives: our Costco booking, Panoramic King room, Good price. We really enjoyed the comfort and view from our room. Good bedding and towels, housekeeping very efficient. Love when they come early & quickly to attend to our room. Super friendly staff, especially by the pool. Thank you Javier and Jose. The pool area food was delicious and reasonable for a nice resort. Yum-o. This is a beautiful resort even though some reviews say it’s dated. No issues about our room & they really keep up the grounds which are very tropical and lush. Negatives: Demolition of a structure by the pool, which ended up lasting all afternoon for 4 days. Jack hammering and a large tractor were not good. Very loud and frustrating. If your trip is for relaxing please check with the hotel to see if there will be a major demo during your stay. I understand they are going to be All Inclusive in the next couple years. For now, love going to all of the restaurants available at the short walk to the Marina. Easy walk for anyone. Don’t let the 2 restaurant closures affect your stay. But Beware of a demo day. All in all we had a great time at the Marriott. Could have stayed longer but moving to Nuevo Vallarta north of Puerto Vallarta for a few weeks. Nice beginning to our vacation.

Under construction / No info when u book
I have Titanium for Life status, have been here numerous times over the last 5 or 6 years, and truly enjoyed most of our stays. This time it was NOT GOOD! And there was no info about the construction 1. Hilarious - two restaurants closed; yet the web site still shows them as open! The Japanese restaurant is supposed to be functioning via the lobby bar but without their signature tabletop grilling. 2. Horrendous - the jack hammering on the pool patio (with a backhoe) all day long was brain cracking. Literally lasts until sunset! 3. We usually get a room on the right (when facing the ocean) building; this time we got “upgraded” to the front building. Awesome view but the mildew smell on the 5th floor and within the room itself was almost intolerable. We kept the sliding door open and the AC on. Due to our (short 3-day visit) we didn’t move. $25/day resort fee for this? Do Better!! Thoroughly disappointed in this hotel EXCEPT for the staff - super pleasant and polite!

6 Star Resort
People always ask us why we go to Puerto Vallarta every year. Well, we've been to several islands in the Caribbean, but none have even come close to the experience we have at the Marriott in PVR. We do love the vibe of Puerto Vallarta but the real reason is the resort. - the location is great - close to the airport but not too close - it's in more of a residential area and not wall to wall hotels - staff are sweet, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile for us - the facility is beautiful, clean and the view is awesome - all the restaurants have a real variety of delicious food (local and international) We will be going again in a few weeks, and I can't wait!

Great gem in PVR
This gem is just 2 hours from PHX. Love the friendliest staff who took time to learn my name and drink order by Day 2. The food has been amazing and if you are looking for a “do nothing” vacation, this is perfect. We have not left the resort and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful getaway.

They always have a kayak ready for me when I reserve it.
