Lovely
This hotel is not as flash as some of the new properties on Barbados. It could do with some new furniture and a coat of paint But.... It's spacious, well equipped, clean, everything works and the staff are lovely. The food is mostly buffet - but there's plenty of variety and it's all good. And the beach is priceless .....

Dissappointed 50th Anniversary
My husband and I went to the resort Dec 1-7. It was to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We arrived on Sunday and by the middle of the night on Tuesday, my husband became violently ill with what we presumed was food poisoning. By Wednesday evening, he was worse and we called a doctor. She said that it was bacterial like maybe salmonella and ordered an antibiotic as well as another med. By Thursday, I also became seriously ill with the same malady. The doctor had to come back and order meds for me. We ended up spending from Wednesday until we left in our room being sick. We also had to extend our stay for 2 days because we were so sick and could not fly. So we were charged for another 2 days, even though we really did not partake in the all inclusive meals, and I know that our illness was from the resort. As for the hotel , the staff were all very nice and helpful. The place is run down, and I found out that they are closing for a year to refurbish. I don't think that it should have been billed as a Marriot until after refurbish. The beach and pools were beautiful!

Superb holiday in every sense
We returned to Turtle Beach for the umpteenth time and were greeted like old friends . Our room was spacious spotlessly clean and serviced daily with plenty of towels etc. Our fridge was refilled regularly with a range of drinks. All three restaurants served excellent food with menus changing daily..something for everyone ! Yes the hotel is a bit tired but that adds to its charm. The beach is one of the best with plenty of loungers and tons of towels. The water sport staff are very helpful…particularly Maradona! The pools also have plenty of loungers if you don’t like the beach..the mattresses are extremely comfortable. A special mention for Nigel,Herm,Winston ,Elizabeth and Losanta but without exception all of the staff are superb. The hotel closes in February for a major refurb as are some of the sister hotels which we look forward to and will certainly return. A word to Marriott , RETAIN your staff! They are your greatest asset!

Overall pleased with this all inclusive resort
I've seen reviews that call the resort a bit tired, whilst it has a certain retro design c.1970's it is well maintained, clean and well serviced everything in the room worked as it should the restaurants and bars were open and well staffed as advertised. Staff in general were very pleasant attentive and there were plenty of them around to help. Food was good, maybe not spectacular but plenty of variety in the main, pleasant semi outdoors, restaurant with the menu changing each day. Only tried the Italian al-a-carte of the other two restaurants and that was excellent. Beach is beautiful, plenty of loungers, towels, drinks etc here and around the pool. Only slightly strange thing is sporadically you will be asked to sign a "bill" in the restaurant (but not always) even thought it is zero. Obviously this is to allow you to tip if you wish, but nobody really explained this and I saw several bewildered faces. Personally I prefer to tip individuals in cash so just signed and left gratuities blank nothing was added to the bill so all good. Watersports are going to be limited as the sea is too rough, although there is always swimming behind a couple of breakwaters with lifeguards. But, on good days they do have all the non-powered kit you'd expect. Overall a good experience

Enjoyed our stay
We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Turtle Beach. The facilities, space, restaurant options and service overall were excellent. In particular, we would like to praise Shodia, who went above and beyond to ensure every request was met speedily and professionally.
